A Lotta Lobster

This weekend we went back for more camping on Narragansett. We enjoyed the live music from that large family that was staying in the space behind us. We went back for another day in New Port and at my suggestion we took the little scenic tour train. That was a bust. My commute blows that tourist . . . I hesitate to say trap because they just seem like a historian based group trying to keep the train around. But we did literally have a good nap. Be for that we went to the Lobster Bar for the second time. The first time was perfect. Fast service great cold lobster rolls. This time the service was horribly slow. It took a half hour to get our food. But perhaps that is because this time I ordered a hot lobster roll. I am still blow away by what looks to be the meat of an entire lobster jammed into a roll. A lot easier that cracking them open yourself. And we were seated right on the dock and watched the boats sail by. —NY

  1. Now that looks amazing. We have lobster rolls here, but they're a little stingy on the meat and perhaps a little too "gourmet-a-fied." Lobster rolls are the sort of thing that you don't want to mess with too much. Just pile on the meat. Last night K, my new neighbor upstairs (R moved out after her second fiance got a job in NY), took us to Spruce as a thank you for helping her get the apartment. I had a grilled bavette steak with duck-fat potatoes and wilted chard. It was delicious, but your lobsta roll--man, I would have traded in a second. How much does one of those things cost anyway? Here, they're like $20, with skimpy meat.

  2. New friends close by sounds good. The "lobsta" roll was $19 plus $1.50 extra for slaw instead of a bag of chips. The first time we went there we left a 20% tip, the second time 15% (probably should have been 12. Our server was awesome the first time. The second time not so good. Ha ha ha, I gave the rest of her tip to the employee of the month when we stopped off at a Mexican restaurant called Cuckoo's Nest on the drive home. I had mole sauce for the first time. p.s. Nice accent!
