I keep meaning to post this photograph, taken in the East Bay, just south of Oakland. I snapped it four months ago and it's been sitting on my desktop since. Let's see what I can remember from that day: Those houses are abandoned. The yellow landscape is made from a blanket of mustard flowers. I was on my way to a Starbucks to grab an iced tea. I had a fried-chicken sandwich for lunch. We hiked in a marsh land and saw lots of birds. Traffic on the way home was rough. We discovered that the truck's air conditioner wasn't working. We called the mechanic from the car and left a message on his machine. Don't you like this shot?—SF
