We spent much of the day traipsing around Brooklyn for the pleasure of an out of town guest. The trip wasn't the best because we had no idea she wanted to go there (till we were in NYC). We really don't know the area, so we showed her what we were familiar with then wandered aimlessly for several hours not seeing much in the way of what we were looking for. In retrospect a trip to a coffee shop with Wi-Fi might have given us the direction we needed.—NY
For better or worse, I don't do any aimless wandering. I research every place I go. While I've traveled to some exotic places, you can rest assured that I tackled them with hours of research under my belt. It's like I'm a cautious adventurer. I say this because it speaks to my need to follow recipes. I'm willing to explore, taste/cook things I've never tried before, but only if I have a guide. I've come to realize that it's also an effective form of time management--someone's already done the legwork, why do I have to reinvent the wheel?
ReplyDeleteLOL . . . the missus mentioned you by name today. After dropping off the friend she said you would have been a pleasure because you would have know exactly where you wanted to go and what you wanted to see. I joked that our only problem would have been talking you down from the $$$$ restaurants to the $$$ or $$.
DeleteAnd thanks for the comment about the photo too! —NY
