Note the hand written message at the top of the photo. This is a shot of the railroad underground passageway. Someone marked the waterline. For months after Sandy hit, you could see a debris line that coincided with the hand drawn line. The tracks were under about a foot of water. It is strange because I didn't know how bad the damage was in the surrounding area (N.J. especially) because we were in the dark for 5 days and couldn't watch the news. I think time last year I think we were spending our last night in the dark. And it was right on time when we got power because the first night we had power the night time temps dropped into the 30s we would have froze. —NY
This may sound stupid, but where in the world did all that water go?
ReplyDeleteI am guessing they pumped it back into the river behind the retaining wall. When I went there 3 days later the water was gone. I wasn't too keen to go out before they cleaned up all of the exposed wires. Though it was tempting to go for a walk and explore.
