I'm writing a story on this new spice boutique called Spice Ace. The owner used to be in high tech and changed courses late in her career. I'd use this opportunity to say that this is proof that it's not too late to chase your dreams, but since she probably made millions in tech, its easier said than done for someone in her tax bracket. For the rest of us, we're flying without a net. So forget it. Food and shelter trump passion pursuits.—SF

  1. Food and shelter trump passion for sure. You should read this book I read earlier this year. Hmmm . . . I think it was Be So Good They Can't Ignore You that addressed that whole passion vs reality thing. They started out with a woman who left a solid career to open a yoga studio that promptly failed.

  2. Pay your due and be sensible. You have heard the saying, faith without works is dead I am sure. This is sort of like passion without common sense can be a fools errand.
