I discovered this place on my morning stroll yesterday. I snapped a pic on the way by yesterday but it was blurry so I had to make another trip this morning. I couldn't believe it when I saw this place. A restaurant in the service entrance of a building! I Googled it last night and found favorable reviews on Yelp. There was one bad review about the openly "secret" Spanish conversation the owner was having with someone that rubbed me the wrong way. But I figured after seeing the place I had to go back for the blog. LOL. I went to Chipotle and the line was probably 30 people deep and I was having a craving for beans and rice after thinking about this place all day, so I figured what they hey and went for it. It wasn't bad and once you get up to the actual counter it doesn't seem so scary. —NY
The girl with the Louis Vuitton bag trying to get a light makes the pic. I love a hole-in-the-wall as much as the next guy, but the looks of this one would have caused a little hesitation in me.
ReplyDeleteLOL, like I said, if it were not for the blog I would have walk right on by. But after searching it, the Yelp reviews were pretty good and I did feel better after walking inside. It looked as good as any dive Chinese take-out kitchen. It was just getting past the entrance. And there is no trash sitting there during the day, this was about 8:45am. I was irritated when the woman walked up as I was about to take the picture. So I snapped a pic of the menu, then made it obvious I was going to take more. She didn't budge, so I figured it would be better with people so I snapped my pic. She dug through that purse a good little while looking for smokes then stood there and smoked. Did you notice the no smoking sign above her?
