Isn't this crazy? A skeletal backbone in a shallow creek on the way to the beach a few days ago. M thinks it may be a deer. The backbone seems longer in the photograph than it was in person, so I think it may be a mountain lion. But then again, mountain lions are pretty much at the top of the food chain in these parts, so maybe M is right.—SF
