Haircut today. I don't know how much longer I can keep up this chop crop. Although it's easy to style chicly (a la Michelle Williams), I do feel very boyish. Which means that I always need to play up my makeup. Which would be fine, except that 95% of the time, I don't need to wear makeup (a pro and con of working for yourself), so 95% of the time, I feel like a boy.

Remember how I've been telling you that I need a fresh start, a new adventure? I just applied for the lifestyle-editor position at Better Homes & Gardens. Lots working against me: 1) I may be underqualified 2) they probably have already chosen their new editor, and just posted the listing out of a legal obligation 3) I don't live in New York 4) I may be underqualified (oh wait, did I already say that?). But these little "hurdles" aren't stopping me from fantasizing. And praying. You know, for a chance.—SF
