A Lucky Break (fracture actually)
Running for the morning train, I did a face plant right at the top of the stairs as the doors closed. The the train didn't move for a good 30 to 40 seconds after I picked myself up and walked the distance of 3 train cars. On the bright side, an exiting passenger brought me my watch that remained on the ground with a broken band. I left work after an hour and a half when I couldn't extend my arm fully. So after a trip to urgent care then an orthopedic doctor I was told I had two hair line fractures (difficult if not impossible to see in this picture). On the bright side, no cast (but a cotisone shot) so I could work the following day. I feared a cast and short term disability since this was my dominant arm. So no sports for 8 weeks!! No golf, no biking, no dancing. What am I going to do. —NY
