Pieces of my vision board and snapshots from 2013 laid out on the floor for a winter solstice ritual. The winter solstice is the darkest, longest night of the year, but it also marks the beginning of going back to more (sun)light. In the ritual, you're supposed to reflect on the past year, marking all the surprises (good or bad), successes/wins, failures/disappointments and lastly the wisdom you've gained. Wanna do a quickie? In this order, name one surprise, one win, one failure, one new piece of wisdom you've gained from your experiences in 2013 and one hope for 2014. I'll go first: the Maui trip; letting go of Mark; letting friendships fall by the wayside; I'm too self-critical and gossipy (all negative energy); to be more alive (full of beans, as they say).—SF

I am surprised that I liked ballroom dancing. I got a full-time job. It is not so interesting. Bad things aren't necessarily bad and good things aren't necessarily good.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of beans. Did you know that a bean feast is a British employee dinner given by the boss or company? I finally had to Google the dang thing after listening to Harry Connick Jr. version of Golden Ticket/I Want It Now for the umpteempth time.
ReplyDeleteI forgot the hope for this year. To get my act together and find my way (career-wise).
