Gettin' kinda hectic

I am really starting to hate flying. I have extended my drive vs fly time from 6 hours to 8 hours now. Meaning I will drive 8 hours before flying. Do you see this little piece of candy and the ibuprofen? Well, after I took my shoes off, walked across the nasty floor with my pants falling down because I had to take my belt off and then having to "assume the position" in that scary x-ray machine, I was told that I didn't empty my pockets and asked to show them what was in my left front pocket. I pulled it out, a piece of chewy candy and an ibuprofen tablet. They are getting ridiculous, rude and I really found "assuming the position" a bit humiliating. —NY

  1. THis is the funniest F****NG story ever on this blog. I just loved it. I also hate flying. I'm not scared to fly, but I find it exhuasting—not just because of jet lag, but also the time it takes to get to the airport on time, the physical pressures of the pressurized cabin, etc. I've never been asked to "assume the position," but I get really flustered in the screening line. I usually have too much stuff on me and can't get organized enough to lay it all on the conveyor belt gracefully.
