Yesterday an editor friend was texting me to say that she had written 1500 words on forgiveness. It's something that I had sensed was missing from the first draft of her book. She seemed excited. I said, "Are you having fun?" She goes, "It's NOT fun, but it's definitely satsifying." And then I replied, "I live in such an emotional grey area that I can't tell the difference." Then I got to work the next day and found this poster hanging on the wall!! "Live in the grey!" How crazy is that. A sign of some sort.—SF

  1. Seems like a sign to me. Yesterday while sitting in front of the TV diddling with my iPad, the Missus was watching some show I have never seen with her headphones on. I just wasn't interested. Then the guy starts playing the piano and I wanted to hear, so I put on my headphones. Then he stops and gives the woman watching a very emotional talk about how he feels when he is playing and suffering for the payoff. Then he tells her that she is lazy and would be a terrible pianist. I felt like I was being spoken to directly. At Comic Con, one of the panels that I attended, the guy said, write the story first, then draw, otherwise you will just wander. I have some ideas that I have been so lazy with and I need to get the story down first and stop diddling around with it because I do stuff but never accomplish anything.
