30 seconds too late . . .

My boss asked me if it was raining so I checked a Time Square web came to see if I saw umbrellas. There was a strange crowd of people, so I Googled it and found out that Paul McCartney gave a surprise concert out of the back of a semi-truck. He Tweeted the concert would be at 1. I found out at 1:15. I got there at 1:30 just as the crowd let out a big cheer then started filing out!! What a disappointment. I would have been happy to have seen just 30 seconds of the former Beatle. —NY

  1. It would have been awesome. Except if he played Hey Jude. Hate that song. I like his more obscure stuff--"Silly love songs" or "Rocky Raccoon." Mark has a great story of him in kindergarten and everyone had to sing part of a song they liked. Everyone was singing stupid kindergarten songs, but since he had 8 older brothers and sisters, he was tuned in to much more stylish stuff. So he sang "Rocky Raccoon." Loves it to this day.

  2. Love the Rocky Raccoon story. I don't think McCartney was playing any old stuff. He was promoting his new album.

  3. I discovered that that is Sir Paul in the middle of the truck bed wearing a black and white shirt. So, I did at least see him, I just didn't know it! I really should have remembered to bring my glasses when I high-tailed it out of the office.
