I used to hide my sensu (Japanese folding fan if you can't tell what that is in the picture) if someone was in eye shot of me on the train. But after a week of 90 plus temps, I just don't care anymore. Sunday we only went up to 88 and today was supposed to be better but the humidity was so high it did not feel like we were out of the 90s. But that being said, I don't think I will ever have the nads to use it on the subway. I snapped this pic in the stairwell at work trying to make something interesting. –NY
Ah, the culture clash. I always remember my first experience with this: I had bought like 20 pairs of fisherman's pants in Bangkok, but they didn't work in the middle of Kyoto winter (or summer, actually). Too bohemian for the culture.
