This is a torii at Tassajara Hot Springs, the site of the second retreat we attended. It's the most beautiful torii I've ever seen, made of 100-percent redwood. Was I supposed to embark on a path to enlightenment doing these back-to-back zen meditation retreats? Besides the yoga and the new friends, I didn't get much else out of them. There's something about dharma that just doesn't penetrate my soul. But instead of feeling bad about it, I'll just own it and be at peace with the reality. Ironically, dharma teaches you to have no judgement, just acceptance. Maybe I'm more enlightened than I thought.—SF

  1. I can't say that I am big into meditation myself. But I do have a copy of the Tao of Pooh currently checked out from the library. I do have to say that I like the way you resolved your conflict. :)
