OK, last photo from Palm Springs—it's been two weeks since our return, so this pic is hardly relevant any more. But what the heck. If you ever have the chance to drive into Palm Springs from L.A., you'll know you're almost there because there are dozens of these windmills all over the landscape! It's a cool sight, actually. But with all the intense sun they get in that part of the world, I wonder why they don't harness solar power instead. On a side note, it's blue skies all over California today, so I guess this picture is semi-relevant after all.—SF
