This most recent trip to L.A. has been more fun than usual (barring any thwarted kidnapping attempts). I bought a four-class pass at a local yoga studio that no one knows about, so I've gotten these private yoga classes (with massage!) for practically highway robbery. Did a little post-Thanksgiving shopping to take advantage of the big sales. And on Saturday we went to a hysterically raunchy musical interpretation of Silence of the Lambs. The production is really small, so the tickets were cheap ($25), but man was it ever a fantastic little show.
I also finished writing a story while I was here. I don't like to work while I'm on the road only because I can't usually turn out the same quality work what with all the distractions. But I made myself handle the distractions, go to yoga everyday, and write a story. Good training for something. I'm supposed to get some excellent career news at the end of this month. It seems like appropriate timing for the web editor position to come through, but I won't hold my breath. Not to sound like a downer; just keepin' it real.—SF
Sounds like you guys had a really nice vacation. We've been spending far too much time at home these days. Glad you could get some work done and still have a little fun. I really should be exploring the smaller productions. They are great fun and affordable. —NY
