We took a long ride around the city today looking for discarded lottery scratchers. I'm getting bolder in my quest. Mark still does most of the digging, but I actually scored 18 scratchers from a bin soaked with coffee. Today's total: 278. At two draws per ticket, that's 556 extra chances to win the lottery. I still can't believe people just toss their loser tickets away without reading the fine print. I guess I've become a bit of an opportunist. This is the land of opportunity, is it not? Seems strangely apropos to celebrate its birthday this way.
Anyway, as you can see from the pic above, Dolores Park was teeming with sun seekers today, although that is thick fog on approach in the background. On our way home it was downright chilly. I know you can't believe it, especially considering the heat pervading your neck of the woods. Tomorrow, back to the grind: yoga, bike ride, work. I scheduled a short follow-up interview with Harrison Ford's son on Friday. First time around I think I was preoccupied that with the fact that I was speaking with one of the few people on earth who can claim that Indiana Jones is his father!
I will also make time to consume pie. I made a blackberry-peach pie last night and have yet to dig in. Hope you had a great holiday. Fajitas and fireworks, if I remember correctly? —SF
